Western Stunts in Marfa
There was big news in Marfa over Labor Day weekend, with police cars and ambulances going back and forth from Alpine to Ft. Davis and toward the Mexican border. The Big Bend Sentinel top story:

Lawrence Weschler at the Chinati Foundation
Lawrence Weschler gave a talk last night on David Hockney and Robert Irwin entitled When Fountainheads Collide. Using evidence from two of his books, Seeing is Forgetting the Name of the Thing One Sees and True to Life, Weschler made an unlikely comparison of the two artists. The lecture took place at the Crowley Theater in Marfa and can be viewed at the Chinati Foundation website.

I made it! I’m in Marfa and its absolutely beautiful here. I saw a film in the town bookstore, had a drink in the hotel where Giant was filmed, and saw more stars than I’ve seen in the past 3 years.
